Well done boys.

Maynooth 2-3 Kill 1-0

Maynooth's u-13 camogie girls put in a fine performance to record a good away victory against a strong Kill team on Wednesday night. Scores from Roisin O'Neill (0-2) and Aoife Greally (1-0) left Maynooth leading by 1-2 to 1-0 at half-time. Second half scores from O'Neill (0-1) and Laoise Millar (1-0) helped the girls to a deserved victory on a final score of 2-3 to 1-0. Maynooth play host to Kildare

Maynooth take on Kildare in a challenge match on Fri 3rd September on the Moyglare Road.

Do I have your attention? Good.

To rephrase: Maynooth U13 Ladies take on Kildare U12 Ladies in a challenge match on Fri next. Throw in is at 6.45 and all are most welcome to come and see future ladies GAA stars in action.

The big question is which dugout Deaglan (manager of both teams) will be sitting in.

This is the final warm up for the U13s who start their league campaign next Wed with a home match against Naas.

The Kildare squad are in final preparation for the U12 Provincial Blitz which takes place on Sep 11th in Carlow.

u-12 camogie enjoy successful weekend in Dublin blitz

Maynooth's under-12 camogie enjoyed a very successful weekend at the Dublin blitz organised by Naomh Brid in August. Representing Kildare against the leading clubs from other counties, Maynooth fielded two teams, in itself a wonderful achievement. The Group A team topped their group with a 100 per cent record following comprehensive victories over Lucan Sarsfields, Ballinasloe and Ballinteer.

In the semi-final the girls met a strong, physical Castletown-Geoghegan (Westmeath) team and despite leading at half-time, could not hold out for victory, losing to a goal scored in the closing stages. The Group B team had some difficult matches in the group stages but saved their best for last, narrowly losing to a much older Ballinteer team in the shield semi-final.

The eventual winners of the blitz were Lucan Sarsfields (Cup) and Ballinteer (Shield). Congratulations to all the girls involved in what was a great day.
