Hard luck to the U/16 hurling team who lost out in the championship final by 2 points to Killard. Despite having a fantastic start to the match, Maynooth just fell short. Well done lads.
The u-11 camogie final in Kilcock on Sunday 4th October was no place for the faint-hearted as Maynooth and Naas went toe to toe in a titanic battle for the Division 1 title. The prediction that this game would go right to the wire proved correct, as an additional ten minutes of extra time was not enough to seperate the rivals at the end of a wonderful sporting occasion. While both teams will feel that they could have come away from Kilcock as Division 1 champions, the replay offers the propsect of another great clash in what is fast becoming one of the great match-ups in underage camogie in the county. The date for the replay will be posted as soon as it is announced.
MAYNOOTH bowed out of the under-21 championship at the first hurdle after a disappointing defeat to Round Towers by three points, 1-8 to 1-5, in Naas on Saturday (7 November).
It was Maynooth against St Laurences for the U11 Div 1 Girls football title on Sat. last. The match was played in St. Laurences as no neutral venue could be found and the Larries won a toss for home advantage.
