Hurlers' latest mission

It's a big weekend of hurling in the club with the juniors facing a crunch tie against Kilcock on Friday night - where a win is a must - and the seniors will try to salvage some pride in their penultimate game against Ardclough on Saturday at 6pm. The juniors play Kilcock in Kilcock at 6.30pm while the seniors play Ardclough in Clane on Saturday.

Junior hurlers disappoint

There was disappointment for the Junior hurling team as they went down to Coill Dubh in the first round of the championship last Friday night (23 July). Maynooth never really got going and were over-powered by a much stronger Coill Dubh side, 3-15 to 0-8.

Back to back defeats for hurlers

After a heavy defeat to Clane on Sunday evening (26 April), Maynooth regained some pride on Tuesday night when they lost out to Confey after a tremendous second half fightback fell just short. Trailing by 3-8 to 0-3 at half-time, Killian Fagan's side netted three second half goals, and might well have had a couple more, as they gave Confey a major fright in the second half. In the end there was just seven points between the sides, Confey winning by 4-11 to 3-7.
The juniors travel to Sallins on Thursday night (30 April) at 7pm , when they play their second round of the league.

Hurlers lose narrowly to Ardclough

Maynooth ran out of time in their comeback against Ardclough on Tuesday night (13 April) as the senior hurlers went down to their second defeat of the league by just three points.

Hurlers lose out to Leixlip

The senior hurlers lost their first league game of the season, going down by 13 points to Leixlip on Tuesday night (6 April). It was 0-9 to 0-3 at the break for the winners and though Maynooth rallied in the second half when Mikey Gillick landed an impressive 65, Leixlip had too much for the visiting side, who now meet Ardclough in their second league game on Tuesday, 13 April. That match is at home, throw-in at 6.45pm. The junior match against Kilcock, scheduled for last Thursday (8 April) was cancelled because no pitch was available.

SHL Round 1

Leixlip 0-20

Maynooth 0-7
