Scór, the cultural side of the GAA is divided into two categories - Scór na nÓg for children under 17 years of age and Scór Sinsear for anyone over 17 years of age. The Scór na nÓg competition takes place between October and January while Scór Sinsear runs from January to March. The idea behind Scór is to promote Irish culture within clubs, and to give the members who may not necessarily wish to take part in sporting activities the opportunity to show their talents elsewhere.
There are eight competitions:

Clubs can provide competitors in each or every category to compete against other clubs within the county. The county winners go forward to represent Kildare at the Leinster semi-finals and, again the top four counties at each competition go forward to the Leinster Finals. Successful competitors at this level go straight through to the All- Ireland Finals against the other provincial winners.
