They came, they saw, and then they delayed. After so much excitement and colour in the town, the 2010 Junior B Carnival has been put back a week to cope with the demand for tickets. There were queues as far back as Gillick's house in Greenfield Drive when Sean Donovan opened the doors of his Londis/Cemtra/Nisa (does anybody know what it's called anymore) shop on Wednesday morning. Gillick had just boiled the kettle for his morning brew when he discovered some supporters had camped out in his front garden overnight. He knew that the madness couldn't continue over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Now the Junior B Carnival moves to Saturday, 7 August, although it's a case of same Bat-time, same Bat-channel, as Kilcock remains the venue for the Clash of the Titans (Maynooth v Clogherinkoe) at 6pm in the quest for the Division 6 League title.
As the hype builds, Gillick has gone to ground, taking shelter from the paparazzi at his holiday hideaway on the French Riviera.
